Infinite (stylized as INFINITE) (Korean: 인피니트) is a seven member South Korean pop boy group under Woollim Entertainment, which is also home to other talents such as Epik High and Nell. The group consists of 7 members: Sunggyu, Dongwoo, Woohyun, Hoya, Sungyeol, Myungsoo/L, and Sungjong. Infinite held their first debut showcase on the 9th of June 2010, performing their hit debut song, Come Back Again (다시돌아와) along with various songs from their first single, First Invasion. They performed their debut track Come Back Again for the first time on the 10th of June 2010 on M! Countdown. Infinite's official fan club name is 'Inspirit'.[1]

Career

Pre-debut

Before their official debut, Infinite revealed themselves with their own reality show shown on Mnet reality documentary program: "You Are My Oppa".[2] Infinite's 'face of the group', L, was featured in Epik High's Run Music Video, along with members Sung Gyu, Woo Hyun and Sung Jong as the band. Members Dongwoo and Hoya were background dancers for Epik High during the promotions of Run.

Promotions in Japan

From their synchronized dance from Come Back Again and their "Scorpion Dance" from their recent comeback song Before the Dawn has caught many attention from fans, viewers and netizens. With this publicity Infinite has risen to fame once more. Infinite debuted in Japan with their first single To-Ra-Wa[3] on January 26, 2011. Immediately after its release, their Evolution album hit #3 on real-time charts for sales in Korea.[4] The song topped to #1 for ringtones on the daily charts of the K-POP section of Japan’s top mobile website.

Comebacks

After promoting their hit debut song Come Back Again (다시돌아와), they then started to promote She's Back[5] from their first mini album, First Invasion.
On January 7, 2011 the boy group had their comeback with their song Before the Dawn (BTD) from their second mini album Evolution.[6] Promotions for BTD (Before the Dawn) ended on the February 17, 2011 on Inkigayo where Infinite performed a remix version of the song.[7] The MV teaser for their next title song Nothing's Over, off their first single album Inspirit, was released on March 7, 2011.[8] The full version was later released on March 16, 2011[9] ahead of their comeback stage on M! Countdown on March 17, 2011 where they performed both Nothing's Over and part of Shot.[10]
Infinite then continued promotions with their follow-up track Can U Smile on May 12 on Mnet’s "M! Countdown".

Their first album Over The Top was released on July 21, 2011[11] together with the MV of their title track Be Mine (내꺼하자).[12] The MV teaser of their title track was first released on their official website at midnight of July 15[13] followed by an album preview on the 20th.[14] The group then had their comeback on July 23, 2011 on Music Core.[15] On the September 1st, 2011 episode of M! Countdown, Infinite took home their first #1 spot for Be Mine. [16] On September 16, 2011, Infinite announced that they will release the repackaged album of Over The Top on September 26, 2011. On September 22, Woollim Entertainment revealed the music video teaser of Paradise, the repackaged album's promotional track. [17] On 9th of October, Infinite came first on Inkigayo for Paradise. Infinite then won their second trophy with Paradise on October 13 on M! Countdown.
